We have been experiencing some significant problems with our phone service. Although we can call out, it has come to my attention that no one else can call in. We have now upgraded our phones and hope this will eliminate the problem. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.

| Please be aware that there are fees for adopting a horse. Adoption fees are charged to help defer the costs of rehabilitating the horse. Adoption fees will vary and will be based on the horse's capabilities, health and the amount of training involved in order to place them. All adoption fees are returned to NMHRR, a non-profit corporation, so that we may continue to care for new arrivals. People interested in adopting one of these horses must be able to provide references and be able to properly maintain the health and well being of a adopted horse. We carefully match horses and families with one another, both to prevent future problems and be sure that this becomes a permanent home for the horse. More information on what we expect from potential adopters can be found on our Adoption Guidelines page, by calling Beth at 989-350-2971 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or by emailing northernmichiganrescue@charter.net. |

Blade...... |
||
![]() |
||
| Blade is a 2 year old, dark bay Quarab or Arabian/Appaloosa mix colt just starting to silver. Extremely polite, leads well and has a healthy start on very nice ground manners. Blade is learning to stand tied quietly and displays a great deal of curiosity regarding his surroundings and new items he is introduced to. Blade already measures 15 HH at the hip. The adoption fee for Blade is $300.00. Please contact Beth at northernmichiganrescue@charter.net or 989-350-2971 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for more information.

Pearl ..... |
||
| Pearl is a 22 year old, registered Standardbred who stands 15'1 HH. Pearl has unusual blood bay coloring with white stockings. Pearl is extremely friendly, intelligent and after years of beginning a broodmare, she prefers to saunter along and sometimes needs some encouragement to continue on. Pearl has done well on the trail with kids and adults but would do best with a advanced beginner, both child and adult. Pearl is working on improving her ground manners and learning to stand tied quietly. She is slightly sway backed from beginning bred so much but is still a beautiful mare and really enjoys having a little one to look after in the pasture. Pearl's adoption fee is $00.00. Please contact Beth at northernmichiganrescue@charter.net or 989-350-2971 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for more information. Payments may be possible but will be determined on a case by case basis.

Ticket to Reality... |

![]() |
| Sadly, Ticket's first adoption didn't work out and he rejoined our family to recover from severe weight loss and minor back problems. He is now back up to an acceptable weight, his back problems have been resolved and he is ready to find his new family (hopefully forever). He is a tall horse at 16'2 HH, 9 years old, chestnut in color and a atypical OTT who has no desire to take off and go. In fact, his prefered pace is a leisurely gambol but he is willing to trot and canter. Ticket will sometimes show a mild stubborn streak but the defiance is short lived and will stop when given some encouragement.Having recently moved to a location with other farm animals present, goats, ducks, chickens and pigs and is fairly anxious about them but he has shown no tendancy to jump sidewise, bolt, buck or rear and is already adapting to the situation. He has a sweet disposition, is fairly patient and finds children very interesting. Ticket would be suitable for an advanced beginner, both child and adult, and would do best as a trail horse.. He has good ground manners, ties, loads, bathes, does obstacles, trails and will stall, although he would prefer to be outside. He does lose weight rapidly without being grain supplemented so it is mandatory that his new family be willing and able to monitor and adjust his diet as necessary. Ticket's adoption fee is $500.00. Please contact Beth at northernmichiganrescue@charter.net or 989-350-2971 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for more information. Payments may be possible but will be determined on a case by case basis. | ||
Jinx... |
||
![]() |
||
| Peppy, strong willed, 8 year old Blue/Brown Roan Appaloosa mare, Jinx is approximately 15 HH and very sturdy. She has beautiful ground manners but can be pushy towards other horses. Jinx will need help overcoming an extreme fear of having her feet trimmed and being tied but with training, Jinx could do well for speed, agility and endurance. We are recommending Jinx to extremely experienced riders only and would not, at this point, put a child on her. We have only recently begun to evaluated her skills under saddle and will update her status as it changes. Jinx has an adoption fee of $500.00. Please contact Beth at northernmichiganrescue@charter.net or 989-350-2971 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for more information. Payments may be possible but will be determined on a case by case basis.
